AHRM Launches the 20th Mabuhay Awards

The Association of Human Resources Managers in the Hospitality Industry (AHRM), the country’s premier professional organization of human resources practitioners and organization development in the hospitality industry, has recently launched the 20th Mabuhay Awards at cocktails held at Sofitel Philippine Plaza.  Nominations are now open for:

  1. Outstanding “Front of the House” Rank and File
  2. Outstanding “Heart of the House” Rank and File
  3. Outstanding Supervisor
  4. Outstanding Manager

The Mabuhay Awards are most coveted awards in the hospitality industry which started in 1984.  It is an annual event and a major service excellence awards program of the AHRM which was organized 1974 which recognizes and rewards exemplary managers and staff in the hospitality industry in the Philippines.  It promotes commitment to service excellence among Filipino hospitality professionals.  The Mabuhay Awards Night is a prestigious event and will be held on November 23, 2015 at the Grand Ballroom of the Sofitel Philippine Plaza.  It is attended by the CEO's, COO's and GM's of top 5-star hotels, restaurants, resorts and educational institutions offering tourism and hotel and restaurant management programs in the NCR, Cebu and Davao as well as HR & OD practitioners in the industry.
AHRM also honors an exemplary executive with the "Mabuhay Gold-Hotelier/Restauranteur Award" for his/her outstanding contribution to the hospitality industry in the Philippines.

Now on its 20th year, a landmark in AHRM's history, it has adopted the theme:  "Treasures of the Philippines for ASEAN" to herald the Philippines' treasures, namely, our islands, the festivals for tourism, the beauty of the Philippine culture and more importantly, its finest assets-- the  Global Filipinos.

Definition of Filipino Values

1.    Integrity
This pertains to a consistent demonstration of honesty and truthfulness in words and deeds.
 
2.    Hospitality and Service
This pertains to genuine warmth and caring for the needs of clients and / or internal customers.

3.    Patriotism
This refers to one’s sense of nationalism and love of country which may be reflected in activities for the community and marginalized sectors as well as initiatives that promote Filipino culture.

4.    Resilience
This refers to critical situations wherein the nominee’s unwavering perseverance and sacrifice were highlighted.

5.    Teamwork
This showcases a person’s ability to work effectively with others and produce good results.

6.    Creativity and Innovation
This pertains to the ability to think out of the box, resourcefulness in finding solutions to problems, and improve a specific current situation in the company.

7.    Environmentalism
This refers to one’s commitment to help preserve the environment and implement sound practices that would contribute to the organization’s advocacy.
