Another highlight in tonight's Mabuhay Awards will be the recognition of the Intercontinental Manila as the association's only surviving pioneer member since 1974. At that time, AHRM was informally established with the Intercontinental Manila, Manila Hilton (now theWaterfront Manila Pavillion), Hyatt Regency Manila (now Midas Hotel & Casino) and the Philippine Village Hotel (now closed). These 4 hotels were the only existing de luxe hotels in the country that year.
